A passenger, acted as a barricade at the door, kneeled down, and pleaded, "We are all Hong Kongers!" He was begging the white-clad men to stop beating up civilians. The passenger has also helped one of the attackers found his pair of eyeglasses. He was beaten to the ground as he handed them the spectacles.

A large group of white-clad men gathered around Nam Pin Wai village close to the MTR station. Some were seen to have carried metal and wooden sticks in hand. Police officers in riot gear were seen not making any arrests, but being friendly with a few white-clad men.

Police attempted to enter Nam Pin Wai village as some residents began throwing objects at them. They later retreated.

Police finally entered Nam Pin Wai village to investigate, seized a batch of metal pipes, and arrested one white-clad man.

THAT NIGHT

Legislative councillor Junius Ho Kwan-yiu was found taking photos with some white-clad men, giving thumbs up to them, and shaking hands. He said: "Thanks for the hard work… You guys are my hero."

元朗白衣黑夜：7月21日晚，元朗一批白衣人出現，發生打人暴力事件。本台特備節目「元朗黑夜」，重整襲擊事件過程。

Translation:
Yuen Long White-Clad Black Night: On July 21, Yuen Long, a violent incident caused by a mob of white-clad men. Our channel's special program "Yuen Long Black Night" organised the course of events of the terror attack.

The police have been accused of mishandling Yuen Long's attack on 21 July. Stephen Lo Wai-Chung, the Commissioner of Police, explained that the "delay" was due to insufficient manpower as the force was busy dealing with a protest in Hong Kong Island, as well as 3 cases of fight and 1 case of fire in the Yuen Long district.

Hong Kong Connection's reporters have collected CCTV footage dated 21 July form different cameras along Fung Yau Street North, Yuen Long, and interviewed relevant persons, to reconstruct the attack's timeline and take a closer look at the police's arrangement during Yuen Long's "nightmare".

After a violent mob attack in Hong Kong, protesters accused the police of ignoring their calls for help. We reconstruct what happened that night.

六月以來的反修例抗爭，持續至七月。在元朗發生的白衣人追打市民的無差別暴力襲擊事件，令人髮指。今集《經緯線》搜集元朗區居民事前收到的訊息、網上帖文的蛛絲馬跡、被襲人士親述被追打經過，警方當日是否部署失當？七月二十七日，大批市民不理會市民反對，在元朗集結及遊行，抗議襲擊事件。一名居於元朗的青年，決定走到前線，希望可以在警方與示威者之間做調停。

Since the Anti-extradition protests began in June through July, the Yuen Long attack from the violent incident of white-clad men indiscriminately attacked citizens caused an outrage. This episode of “Now Report” gathered information received from Yuen Long residents, onlines posts, and relatives of victims. Were the police improperly deployed that day? On July 27, a large group of protestors, despite other residents disagreements, began rallying in Yuen Long to protest against the violent incident. A young Yuen Long resident decided to go to the frontline, hoping to mediate the clashes between the police and the protestors.
